Regulation

Member of Hong Kong National Squad must
(1) register under “Ranking System of Hong Kong Judo Athletes”; and
(2) meet the benchmark within the Ranking System of Hong Kong Judo
Athletes”; and
(3) accredit by the Hong Kong National Squad Committee of The Judo Association of Hong Kong, China; or
(4) participate in Judo events held by The Judo Association of Hong Kong, China in the past calendar year with performance assessed by the Hong Kong National Squad Committee which reports to the Executive Committee for approval.


Eligibility
Member of Hong Kong Judo Squad should
(1) be holder of valid Hong Kong Identity Card; and
(2) fill in and submit the Health Testimonial to prove that his/her fitness and mental condition are
fit for Judo training; and
(3) be confirmed by the Hong Kong National Squad Committee of The Judo Association of Hong Kong, China as a member of Hong Kong Judo Squad.


Coach
(1) The Coach of the Hong Kong Judo Squad, exercising the mandate of The Judo Association of Hong Kong, China, is appointed to manage and train the Hong Kong Judo Squad; and
(2) The Coach of the Hong Kong Judo Squad is assigned duties by the Hong Kong National Squad Committee of The Judo Association of Hong Kong, China.


Trainings
(1) The Training Program of the Hong Kong Judo Squad shall be arranged and announced by the Hong Kong National Squad Committee of The Judo Association of Hong Kong, China; and
(2) The training time-table of the Hong Kong Judo Squad shall be arranged and announced by the Hong Kong National Squad Committee of The Judo Association of Hong Kong, China; and
(3) The trainings shall be conducted by the Coach of the Hong Kong Judo Squad.


Responsibilities
Member(s) of Hong Kong Judo Squad must
(1) attend the Training Program arranged and announced by the Hong Kong National Squad Committee of The Judo Association of Hong Kong, China; and
(2) respect and follow the training instructions given by the Coach of the Hong Kong Judo Squad; and
(3) follow the Training Program assigned to him/her in a positive and appropriate attitude and manner; and
(4) accept and participate in any event assigned to him/her by The Judo Association of Hong Kong, China or by the Hong Kong National Squad Committee.
(5) uphold the unity and consistency of the Hong Kong Judo Squad; and
(6) assist team-mates to accomplish the task of the Training Program.


Selection
Member the Hong Kong Judo Squad shall be selected to participate in all kinds of international events in accordance with the eligible criteria set by the organizers respectively.


Important Notes
(1) You are virtually representing Hong Kong Special Administrative Region if you are selected by The Judo Association of Hong Kong, China or by the Hong Kong National Squad Selection Board to participate in any kind of Judo events.
(2) You are restricted to express any view on The Judo Association of Hong Kong, China, the Hong Kong National Squad Committee, the Hong Kong Judo Squad or the Coach of the Hong Kong Judo Squad to any individual or organization without the authorization of The Judo Association of Hong Kong, China and the Hong Kong National Squad Committee.
(3) You must conduct yourself not to harm the reputation of The Judo Association of Hong Kong, China, the Hong Kong National Squad Committee, the Hong Kong National Squad or the Coach of the Hong Kong National Squad.
(4) During the trainings or in any event of the Hong Kong National Squad assigned by The Judo Association of Hong Kong, china or the Hong Kong National Squad Committee, photo- and video-shooting sessions shall be taken for training, promotional or commercial purposes. The Judo Association of Hong Kong, china, together with all its associated committees and sub-committees shall be entitled to use the portrait right of the participated Squad members in any kind of form and unconditionally.
(5) A Squad member who has breached the above-mentioned term(s) and condition(s) might be removed from the roll of the National Squad or subjected to disciplinary actions including the inquiry by the Disciplinary Committee of The Judo Association of Hong Kong, China.
(6) A Squad member who has signed and submitted the Agreement for Hong Kong Judo Athletes to the Hong Kong National Squad Committee shall be deemed as an agreement to follow and observe the terms(s) and condition(s) of this Regulations and Criteria as well.
(7) You are required to notify the Hong Kong National Squad Committee or the Coach of the Hong Kong National Squad in written for the sick leave(s). The Judo Association of Hong Kong, China may ask you to present a written reference for the sick leave(s) from a registered medical clinic.
(8) The Judo Association of Hong Kong, China has sole and final discretion of interpretation of the terms and conditions of this Regulations and Criteria

Appeal Mechanism for the Selection of Athletes
The Appeal Committee of The Judo Association of Hong Kong, China shall handle any appeals or complaints against the selection results of the Hong Kong National Squad Committee. Appeal must be delivered to the Appeal Committee in written. The Applicant shall have to prove that the selection is against the criteria or lack of sufficient information for evaluation under the present Selection Mechanism. The Appeal Committee reserves the right to accept the appeal or not. If the appeal is accepted, the Appeal Committee shall review the appeal in accordance with the benchmarks and criteria for each tournament setting up by the Hong Kong National Squad Committee together with the participating requirements of the tournament concerned. The Appeal Committee, after inquiry, might adjust the number of nominated athlete(s) or just return the case back to the Selection Committee for rehearing.

The Hong Kong Athlete Ranking System will consist of points from local competitions, international competitions, Hong Kong Judo Team attendance and Hong Kong Judo Team performance. The ranking will be used as a major factor to decide the representative in future international events for the Hong Kong Judo Team.


 

Hong Kong Judo Team Performance
The Coaches of the Hong Kong Judo Team will evaluate the performance of the Hong Kong Judo Team members and give a performance point up to 20 points each month.

Expiration
The points will be updated on the last Friday every month, and will expire in 365 days
Example - If scores are updated on 31 December 2016, the points will expire on 31 December, 2017.

Requirement for Local Events
A minimum of one contest must be won in order to get points for a tournament, and only the participation points will be given.

Additional Rules for Tie Score
In case of equality of total points, the higher ranking will be decided by
1. The IJF World Ranking
2. The higher point gained from the higher level championship

Additional Rules for Selecting Representatives in Competitions
With reference to the JAHKC Athlete Ranking List and the rules of individual competitions, JAHKC will select representatives in joining competitions by considering
1. whether the athlete is one of the top 8 of that weight category in the ranking list;
2. the possible results by the athlete, such as prize;
3. the long-term values of the competition to the athlete and Hong Kong Judo;
4. the available resources of JAHKC.
